In 2019 a collaboration of trail builders including Terrain Trails were contracted to construct stage 2 of the Dinner Plain MTB Trail network. Scope included the final design and trail construction within pre-approved alignment corridors.
Terrain Trails worked with ecologists and geologists to complying with strict Environmental and CHMP constraints due to the extreme ecological and cultural sensitivity of the site. Methodology utilised during construction as outlined in the comprehensive Site Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) included: Mulching and disbursement of removed understory vegetation, removal of native grass sods from trail tread for reuse on backslope, sides of rollers and back of berms and Installation of silt fencing to all major grade reversals and drains.
Dinner Plain MTB Park now boast 23km of progressive XC and gravity trails aimed squarely at intermediate riders leveraging the beautiful and unique alpine environment.
